Stad weather radar is located at Kjerring, at the far end of Stad in Selje municipality in Sogn- og fjordane. Stad weather radar was installed in 2009.
The radar tower at Stad is paved and 10 meters high. The center of the radar antenna is 508 meters above sea level.
Stad weather radar mainly shows precipitation and wind over the northern North Sea and southern Norwegian Sea. At the same time, the radar provides real-time information on precipitation over cities such as Ålesund and Molde.
